Change might be driven by different factor like technological evolution, process reviews, crisis, consumer habit changes, pressure from new business entrants, acquisitions, mergers, organizational restructuring, etc.

Change Management deals with many different disciplines, such as behavioral and social sciences, information technology, business solutions, etc. However it needs to includes methods that redirect or redefine the use of resources, business process, budget allocations, or other modes of operation that significantly change a company or organization. Change management must also take into account the human aspect where emotions and how they are handled play a significant role in implementing change successfully.

Although there are many different types of organizational changes, the critical aspect is a company’s ability to win the buy-in of their organization’s employees on the change. Effectively managing organizational change needs to include:

  • Recognizing the changes in the broader business environment
  • Developing the necessary adjustments for their company’s needs
  • Training their employees on the appropriate changes
  • Winning the support of the employees with the persuasiveness of the appropriate adjustments
